Die Wand des Steinbruchs besteht aus Buntsandstein, welcher vor vielen Jahren durch Ablagerungen entstanden ist.
Die damaligen Flusssysteme transportierten Gesteinsschutt aus umliegenden Gebirgen ins Inland, wo es in einem Becken abgelagert wurde. Die Lage des Odenwalds befand sich im südlichen Teil dieses Beckens und nun tritt der Sandstein dort zutage.

Seit 1980 wird die Steinwand zum Klettern genutzt, besitzt zahlreiche Routen mit Absicherungen und einen Klettersteig.
Wer Lust und die passende Ausrüstung hat kann hier auch den Cache Starkenburger Steig GC19YHJ machen.
Ansonsten lädt der Platz auch zum Grillen und Picknicken ein, Bänke und eine Feuerstelle sind vorhanden.

b, c und d sind die Ablagerungen in der Einzahl in alphabetischer Reihenfolge.
Ihr solltet dann umgehend eine automatische Antwort-Mail bekommen, falls die Adresse richtig ist. Bekommt ihr keine Mail, ist noch ein Fehler in den Antworten.
Optional kannst du noch ein Foto mit dir vor der Felswand machen. Dies ist aber nicht mehr bindend.
