In zwei benachbarten Steinbrüchen steht eine Folge typisch rot-weiß geflammter und gestreifter des unteren Buntsandsteins (Bernburgfolge) an. Die Ablagerung vor ca. 250 Millionen Jahren erfolgte unter wüstenähnlichen Bedingungen vorwiegend in Flusstäler, flachen Endseen und zeitweiligen Überflutungsebenen. Auffällige Schräg- und Kreuzungsschichten im Sandstein sind durch unterschiedliche Schüttungsrichtungen bei der Sandablagerung begründet.
Beantworte mir bitte folgende Frage:
Im Steinbruch sind weitere Sedimentschichten zwischengeschaltet. Wie werden diese genannt und welche Farbe haben sie?

In two neighboring quarries you can see typical red-and-white striped and flamed sandstone of the Lower Triassic (Bernburgfolge). The deposition about 250 million years ago took place under desert conditions mainly in river valleys, flat lakes and temporary flood plains. Conspicuous diagonal and cross-layers in the sandstone are caused by different pouring-directions of the sedimentation. The sandstone has a red colour resulting from hot and dry climate and iron compounds.
