Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the new Baltimore County bicycle/pedestrian pathway occupying the old Dolfield Road between Red Run Blvd. and the Dolfield Rd/Pleasant Valley Intersection in the Owings Mills New Town Area. You do not need to leave the path to find this cache but you may need to look over behind things to find the item. This is a small cache so bring a pen to sign in on the log paper. Until construction is completed, this ped/bikeway is not handicapped accessable.

The location of this cache is a bit down the trail off Red Run Blvd to give you a good feel for a brand new transportation facility. It is a nice paved pathway for foot traffic, jogging, walking the dog, being with the family, bicycling, and other enjoyable and healthful endeavors. Once completed, this pathway will also be wheelchair accessable. At the moment, parking to use this new ped/bikeway is very limited but more local proximity parking lots will be open soon along Red Run Blvd. At the New Town segment near the other end of the ped/bikeway, parking can be found at a small community Park with access off Dolfield Road in the northeast quadrant of the Dolfield Rd/Parkers Farm Rd/Dolfield Blvd intersection with access next to a private home. This is very near where the new Dolfield Blvd bridge is under construction. Currently, the ped/bikeway's other starting point is just east of the single car bridge crossing at the Dolfield Rd/Pleasant Valley Rd intersection. Once completed, this ped/bikeway will extend from Red Run Blvd. to Solders Delight Natural Park past the New Town development area. This path will provide bicycle and walking transportation access from New Town communities to businesses along Red Run Blvd., to the Owings Mills Mall, and eventually to the Owings Mills Metro Station. Enjoy the walk and the cache hunt.
