Geocache Description:

At Meguro-Fudo, Fudou-myouou are enshrined as its name.

The temple is officially named Ryuusenji-temple, one of five-colors-Fudo. But indeed, other colors-Fudo were named after Meguro-Fudo as Meguro-Fudo's fame. There are some buildings as well as Hondo, Nioumon, and Tokko-no-Taki fountain with a legends about En-nin in the temple. Meguro is famous for one of the most popular titles of Rakugo "Meguro-no-Sanma(Sanma is pike)". This story is about what occurred in this area. Here are the graves of Aoki konyo who encouraged the cultivation of sweet potatoes as a famine food protection, so Sweet-Potato-Festival takes place in the fall. They have a festival at the 8th, 18th, and 28th every month.

目黒不動には名前のとおり不動明王が祀られています。

江戸の五色不動のひとつですが正式には瀧泉寺という名称の寺院です。五色不動は最初から５つの不動を設置するよう企画されたものではなく、もともと目黒不動がたいそう賑わっていたところに五行思想などが結びついて、他の４不動が目黒不動にあやかって次々と名乗りを上げていったようです。
境内には本堂、仁王門などの建物のほか、独鈷の滝という円仁にまつわる伝説を持った泉などがあります。目黒と言えば「さんま」で有名ですが、この「さんま」の話はこの付近にあった茶屋でだされたものであるとされています。また、ここには飢饉対策として甘藷の栽培を奨励した青木昆陽の墓があり、秋には甘藷祭りが行われます。毎月８日・１８日・２８日が縁日で、中でも２８日がいちばん賑やかです。
