Located very near but not within the Plainfield Tunnel Channel Lakes State Natural Area.
Talk about a place that is in need of a traditional cache, here it is. A nice little stop with a great view.
Please avoid entering the State Natural Area as this area provides specialized habitat for on of Wisconsin's rarest plants, Fassett's locoweed. Go to the Wisconsin DNR website and search for State Natural Area #26 for more information. The possible EarthCache will not be published as the area does not hold enough information on site to meet the logging requirements for an EarthCache.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Paul Samerdyke of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager.
