The North Saskatchewan River runs through the Brazeau Range at "The Gap". This great opening in the mountains marks the spot for this cache.
The easiest way to approach this cache is the way the early travelers would have, by river. A relaxing canoe trip from where the North Saskatchewan River crosses the forestry trunk road near Nordegg to Rocky Mountain House can be easily done on a weekend with a couple of nights camping on the river. The scenery is beautiful and the river will provide a gentle trip for beginners as well as optional rapids for the more advanced canoeist.
The cache is a 4 litre plastic pail that has been painted black. The original contents were:
- 10 garbage bags
- Hand towel
- Wine bottle cork screw
- Signal whistle
- Butane lighter
- Candle
- Magnifying glass
- Multi-blade knife
- Roll of electrical tape
- Deck of playing cards
- Hearts card game
