adventurers4: Sorry to the recent searchers for this one. It is gone--I checked today. But I'm going to retire this one. If someone else wants to place a cache here, feel free--it is a wonderful park and gorgeous sunset from here. Great view.

This is a park and grab in a beautiful park with incredible vistas—especially at sunset. There are often deer here as well. Having a 2 year old, I enjoy the easy caches in parks so I’ve added one as well.
Deukmejian Park is also a great starting point to climb to Mt. Lukens. There are many caches nearby, on well maintained trails, along streams or with great views of the Valley, LA, and Pasadena. I especially recommend bringing sandwiches here and enjoying the sunset and city lights.
The cache is a log-only 35 mm film canister. Please bring a pen. There can be a lot of people nearby so search and especially re-hide carefully. There are so many lizards here that you could say you’re looking for one if somebody asks you what you’re doing :) .
The park says it closes at Dusk. I've never seen the gate closed (I live around the corner) but if you arrive at night or are staying late, you can park at the bottom of the hill outside the gate and walk the short distance up. Also, this is a park but it is a Wilderness area so there could be snakes, coyotes, etc.
