There are two approaches you can take to get started. I suggest
parking at the Winters Bayou Scenic Area parking lot off of FM 1725
at 30° 23.591' N & 95° 9.498' W. However, if it is rainy or has
been raining this part of the trail can be very muddy. So the
alternative is to park at 30° 25.383' N & 95° 8.329' W where
the trail crosses FM 945. If you're starting from FM 1725 plan on
hiking around in the woods for about 3 hrs so bring plenty of water
if it is hot out. Less time if starting from FM 945.
When you retrieve the cache(ammo box) please log in the journal
and take a picture of yourself with the disposable camera. The
camera is not one of the prizes so please put it back into the
cache. Periodically I will develope the pictures ya'll take and
post them on this website. Reseal the camera, journal, & prizes
in the cache and replace it before you leave. Oh yeah, be sure to
listen for the rumble in the jungle.
Please don't list (on the website) the treasures you have put
into the cache. That might spoil the excitement of the unknown.
However, posting travel bugs or geocoins and saying what you take
is perfectly fine.
