A cace event with a difference - a paddle on the North Saskatchewan River from Devon to Edmonton with stops for a few caches on the way.
The North Saskatchewan River is an often unappreciated treasure in Edmonton. Here's an opportunity to enjoy the river and geocache on the way.
The posted coordinates are for the picnic shelter in Emily Murphy Park where we have previously had cache events but we will actually be meeting at the west end of the Park by the Groat Road Bridge at 0830 on September 10, 2005. You can leave your vehicle there and we will have transport for people and their boats to Devon and then paddle back to Emily Murphy. The trip duration should be about 5 hours but, hey, it's the river and times can very depending on winds, flow rates, how hard you paddle and how many stops you make. We are renting a canoe trailer and can rent canoes if you need one. People will pitch in to cover the rental costs if they use trailer or a rental canoe.
XIITerraPaws will running chase with a kayak to provide assistance if needed but it should be a safe, leisurely trip with lots of great scenery and some caches best accessed by water.
We need to know asap if you are interested and need to use the trailer or rent a canoe. Please, if you say you want a canoe rented for you or want space for your boat on the trailer, then you need to cover its cost (I think about $30 plus another $10 to help with the cost of the trailer - more details will be forthcoming) whether you make it to the event or not.

The event will be considered attended once you have returned to the take out at Emily Murphy where Vixen will be waiting to greet the returning heroes with a giant cake.
You might think about having picnic supplies waiting in your vehicles for a bit of a party once we have landed. Bush Creatures will bring fire making material.
