This cache has been place for GAG8. Please don't look for it
before April 28 at 18:00.
In the 1960's a drunk driver was trying to get away from the
police in Ottawa, he decided to outrun the police in the
country-side, which is now known as the Anderson area. He turns on
the side road, and turns out the lights hoping to lose the police.
Back then, it was not uncommon for children to play on the side of
the road. The drunk driver struck the child who was skipping rope
and killed her. The family, being poor, couldn't afford a proper
burial. They errected a huge white cross on the side of the road,
which marks her memory. The family is now long gone, but the locals
keep care of it - and claim it to be nothing more than a religious
thing, and are very tight-lipped about the story.
In the area where she was killed the trees are all dead, nothing
grows, and this extends several feet from the side of the road on
the right hand side.
Over the years, people have seen the girl skipping rope in the
evening or night - none the wiser that they have seen a ghost. Some
hear strange noises in those woods, including the sounds of a small
child. There use to be alot of street racing on Anderson road,
several of the people have spotted her. Some of the rumours go as
far as saying she is burried somewhere in the forest not far from
the cross (but this can not be verified). People who visit the area
are often overwhelmed by feeling of anxiety for no reason.
This is a night cache. It is easier to do it at night, if you
dare. Go at the posted coordinates. With a flashlight, illuminate
the trees on the North side of the road at eyes level. You will see
2 sets of reflectors on trees. Go to to the farthest tree with
reflectors. Attached to the tree, you will find a tag for waypoint
#2.
At waypoint #2, do like at waypoint #1. But instead of finding a
tag, look for other reflectors on trees near by. They will mark
your way to the cache.
Good luck, and don't forget to document your scary encounters
:)
