Geocache Description:

Montgomery Park is one of the newest estates to appear on the outskirts of Irvine.

Officially part of Lawthorn, Montgomery Park (originally named Earlswood) lies on land which was once part of the Eglinton estate. It is bordered by the Red Burn to the South, the present Long Drive to the East, and the original Long Drive on the West.

The estate's original name and current name refer to the Montgomery family who have held the title Earl of Eglinton since 1508.

At the South of the estate a small nature pond has been created next to the Red Burn and a new footbridge has been built over the burn.
