Geocache Description:

Located about 45 minutes walk (one way) from the nearest road. You can come in from either the west or east off public roads or inside Elm Creek forest preserve. Bike trails with-in half a mile. Should be accessible by snow shoe or x-county skies in winter with some challenge. Would rate this a 4 in the winter a 2 any other time.

Cache was founded with a Rubbermaid container. I made a label for the outside using the web site logo. Placed some pencils with sharpener and a log book. Started with two “GPS” batteries and CD ROM software Street Atlas. The coordinates are an average of three readings. Excellent picnic spot with many water foul to be heard and seen. Deer abound if you’re quiet enough. This is classic Minnesota wilderness in the middle of the metro, hope you enjoy the hike and the location.
