You can access this cache from the Overlook Mountain Trailhead.
Hike is around 5 miles round trip on a well maintained trail/access
road with some moderate inclines. Maximum elevation will be around
3100'.
Cache is a Waterproof Match Container painted black and
green.
Eastern Timber Rattlesnakes (Crotalus horridus) are commonly
seen in this area during the warmer months. I placed this cache
hoping to spot some but only saw a Black Rat snake, and an Eastern
Garter snake. Obviously, be careful during this one. If you are
lucky enough to see one, do not touch or disturb the Timber
Rattlesnakes, they are a threatened species. Oh, and did I mention
they are a venomous species...just in case you didn't know.
Don't forget to stop and enjoy the amazing view near the cache.
You will see rock carvings of names and dates back to the mid
1800's.
Good Luck and Cache Safe!
Congrats to xxx-xxx for FTF on 04 August
