Geocache Description:

This Geocache challenge is in three parts:
Part 1 Locate the cache by answering the questions.
Part 2 Optional - Take a picture of a passing train and post a picture - I love trains!
Part 3 Optional (Instructions inside the cache)

The challenge is in three parts although parts 1 and 3 are optional and will not affect you logging your find.

Part 1: Decypher the puzzle and this will lead you on to the cache where instructions for the optional third and final part of the geocache are located.
Part 2: Completely optional please take a picture of a train from a certain location and post it on the log. If you are out geocaching with others then by all means try and get them in frame as well.

Part 3: Optional. The instructions are in the geocache which you must first locate.

Of course the trains always run on time! However you may need a timetable to assist you in your quest.

Be careful at the unmanned crossing. Your safety is paramount. There is no need to wander around the crossing. Please park carefully and sensibly and always keep alert for trains coming through. Please do not block any driveways. The virtual cache photographs may be taken from either side of the crossing so there is no need to cross over to take a picture if a train is approaching.
The challenge Part 1:
A little wander about to locate some clues. Please do not wander about if the barriers are down.

Standing at “Burnt House” aim towards “X20” Snap and post!
Or
Stand at “GAS2752 ” aim towards “91M 15C” Snap and post!
Indside the cache you will find instructions for part 3 (Optional) of the challenge! Good luck and happy geocaching.

There are many railway level crossings around and within the Whittlesey area. It seems impossible to actually leave the Town of Whittlesey without having to cross an unmanned crossing, apart from the manned crossings at the railway station in Whittlesea and Kings Dyke.

This is a quest for all geocachers but in particular those who are interested in trains and wish to take up the challenge of being in a location at a particular time. This is the first of a series of “It is all about the timing”geocaches.

There is still a signal box at Turves which is called Three Horse Shoes. This signal box used to work the Three Horse Shoes junction that was here before the branch to Burnt House and Benwick closed. It now just controls the main line which runs between Peterborough and Norwich and trains do stop at Whittlesea station en route.
