Geocache Description:

This cache is in the Bernese Oberland above Grindelwald on a broad path with a slight incline. In winter skiers, tobogganers and walkers may be able to access the site, but be prepared for deep snow! Snow shoes would be useful.

The cache is named after the apple doughnuts known to walkers and skiers in the Grindelwald region available only at Restaurant Brandegg, the first stop on the mountain railway between Grindelwald-Grund and Kleine Scheidegg. Please note that the restaurant may be closed between the main seasons, but in the summer it is open from 30 May to 18 October.

The cache is on the Apfelchüechliweg, which passes beneath the Eiger Nordwand (Eiger North Face) and links Brandegg with Holenstein, a wonderful walk with breathtaking scenery - not to be missed. Details at grindlewald.ch. Suggest starting at Brandegg for a short, but rewarding stroll; for a longer walk take the Mannlichen cable car to Holenstein and follow the marker signs which lead to Brandegg.
