Geocache Description:

This virtual geocache is located at the top of one of the most scenic canyons in the Santa Catalina Mountains.

The geocache is a well known, but very hard to reach, geographic landmark called the "Window". It is a 10-foot high by 25-foot wide granite arch that overlooks the canyon that was named after it. The Window is very unique in that there are few, if any, arches of this caliber in southern Arizona that share the same majestic panorama (one more).

The Window is located in the Pusch Ridge Wilderness, so a regular cache would probably not be appropriate at this location. Therefore, I made "The Window" a virtual geocache. To claim this cache you must take a photo of yourself and your GPSr in the Window and post it on the cache page along with your log entry. Note that your GPSr must be in the photo and must be under the arch or it will not count as a find. The coordinates at the top of the page should place you at the center of the arch near a large boulder.

The hike is around 13 miles round-trip with over 4000 ft of elevation gain. Plan on a full day. Be prepared for some of the most scenic vistas the Catalinas have to offer.
