GHQ (total command of commander-in-chief of the military of union country)
Here is a building where GHQ that had advanced with the conclusion of the Pacific War opened the general headquarters.
Headquartering [daiichiseimeikan] built along the moat in shape to look down at Imperial Palace seems to put the union country army and to be put the emperor's political intention of reigning further up.
[Daiichiseimeikan] is completed by the design by [koshitsuku] Matsumoto and [watanabejin] in 1938(1938). They were the sixth floors on the ground, and 5 stories in the underground. Douglas and the duty room of A and commander MacArthur (Douglas A. MacArthur 1880-1964) were on the sixth floor. In general, it seems to be unpublished though total commander MacArthur room is still preserved.
It is selected to the Tokyo selection landmark as the last in existence large-scale construction at prewar days.

GHQ(連合国軍最高司令官総司令部)
ここは太平洋戦争の終結と共に進駐してきたＧＨＱが総司令部を置いたビルです。
皇居を見下ろす形で堀沿いに建てられた第一生命館に本部を置くことは、連合国軍が天皇のさらに上に君臨するという政治的意図が込められているそうです。
第一生命館は、松本輿作、渡辺仁による設計で、1938年(昭和13年)に竣工。 地上6階、地下5階建てでした。
ダグラス・A・マッカーサー(Douglas A. MacArthur
1880-1964)司令官の執務室は6階にありました。現在でもマッカーサー総司令官室が保存されていますが、一般には公開されていないそうです。
戦前最後の現存する大規模建築として、東京都選定歴史的建造物に選定されています。
