I picked up some snowshoes at the recent Winter Geomeet and just had to head out and use them. I picked a spot near the top of Benson Mountain and headed west through the forest to a nice hidden spot near the Connecticut border.
Plan on a mile walk on a decent carriage road and about a half mile in the woods. There might be a trail, there might not. In winter you'll need snowshoes and a sense of adventure. The cache was placed in a snow friendly location.
To avoid trespassing on private property, use the Buck Hill Parking area. Most of the nearby property in Connecticut and Rhode Island in privately owned and posted.

Hunting season for archers is October 1 - February 31. Cache is in a area likely to be hunted and cachers should use common sense and wear orange. Avoid visiting near dawn and dusk when deer, and hunters are active.
