How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This cache isn't too hard, but you first must find the KEY!

The coordinates given here are only approximate. This cache is hidden in an ecologically-sensitive wetlands area in a suburban neighborhood. If you're careful, you may even see some nutria or other wildlife. In order to keep eco-damage to a minimum, you must bring the key with you. Here's how it works:
  1. First, you need to find the key. It is the only "key" to the accurate coordinates. It should be in some geocache in the Portland area. It's a travel bug, so you may try to locate it by following this link:
    http://www.geocaching.com/track/track_detail.asp?ID=1003
  2. Follow the instructions in the small cylinder on the key ring to find the cache. Keep the key with you during the hunt. (This is our way of minimizing the impact on this area.)
  3. After the hunt, place the key into another geocache in the Portland area for the next person. Please don't hide it in the same cache where you found it, and PLEASE don't be a wise guy and leave it in this cache!
  4. If you remembered to write down the travel bug's number, you'll be able to register its new location on the website. If not, send me a note telling where you really left it and I'll fix things for you as soon as I can.
