Geocache Description:

Rusty's Pizza - 1410 Wible Road - Monday February 29, 2016 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

BAKO1313 wanted to have a Leap Day event so here it is! Come on by to Rusty's Pizza and join us for some cache fellowship, pizza, and fun. This is your chance to knock off that calendar day that only comes along once every four years, without having to look through a bush to find it. We might even play some games and have some prizes. You never know what BAKO1313 has up his sleeve.

This is also the kick off event for the latest Kern County Cachers' contest...

Kern County Cachers' Large Cache Contest

The Kern County Cachers are challenging you to plant your best large sized container cache. A large sized cache container is defined as "20L or larger. Example: A large bucket.e.g. 5-gallon bucket (about 20 liters)". All caches entered into this contest must hold more than 20L of fluid (we will poor water in your cache if questionable).

Caches can not be published before 12:00 AM on Monday February 29, 2016. You can plant as many caches as you want as long as they are large sized caches. All caches must be planted in Kern County.

Caches will be judged in the following categories. Caches can be considered for any and all combinations of categories.

  • Most Favorites: The cache with the most favorites wins. Ties will be broken by the highest favorites/premium logs percentage listed on the cache page.
  • Highest Favorites Percentage: The cache with the highest favorites/premium logs percentage wins. Ties will be broken by the highest favorite points for each cache.
  • Largest Cache: The largest cache container wins! A cache container will be considered any container that was planted for the purpose of this contest. So unless you build a building after this event's publish date, it won't be considered. Photographic evidence that the building or container was not at the location prior to planting will be required, so take before and after photos. This prevents you from putting a piece of paper on a wall at the library and claiming it is your container. Of course such a thing would be outdone by putting a piece of paper outside and claiming the world is your cache container. You get the picture.
  • Largest Cache Log: The largest object that cachers sign their name to wins. It does not have to be a book. If "eyeballing" it is too close, we will measure the log with a tape measure or laser range finder. Obviously the log must be contained in a container.
  • Loneliest Cache: A large cache that is published by 11:59 PM on Friday March 4, 2016 and is enabled and not muggled until the end of the contest and has the fewest finds. There are many ways to accomplish this, but we leave it up to you. Please take pictures of your cache placement just in case it never gets found despite cachers looking so they may confirm they genuinely did not find it as compared to you never planted it and are cheating.
  • Rojo's choice: A cache the elrojo14 just feels like is great and needs to be recognized, but didn't win in any of the other categories.

The contest will run from February 29, 2016 until 11:59 PM on Friday September 30, 2016. The awards ceremony will be held on the night of Saturday October 1, 2016 and a new event will be published for the awards ceremony.

In order to join the contest, just put the following text in the name of your cache, "KCC LCC". Then once your cache publishes, post a note to this cache with a link to your cache. We will add them to the KCC Large Cache Contest Caches Bookmark List as we find them. You do not have to attend this event to participate. You simply need to plant a large cache with "KCC LCC" in the title.

Please ask if you have any further questions and good luck!

Please insert this exact text below with links into the bottom of your hides as well. You can view the source of the page and copy and paste the info or you can use an HTML editor. If you need further help, please contact me and I will try to be of further assistance.
