How Geocaching Works
Located in Pike Lake State Park, near Powder Hill Trail. Trail has fairly steep hills. About 1600 feet above sea level.
Located in a heavily wooded area near a trail that leads to the top of a glacial kame. This area used to contain pioneer homesteads and has old stone fences running through the woods. Cache is now in an old ammunition box; used to be a ziploc container, but I changed that in July 2008. Along with some other goodies the container was initially loaded with rocks I picked up in the Black Hills and from the shores of Lake Superior, polished in my rock tumbler. If you collect rocks, use this cache as a polished rock exchange, and leave a note about the rock you deposit.
