A beautiful hike after a 4wd road to trail head. Out of Alabama Hills, CA.
This is a great hike! The dirt road would be best in a 4WD near the end. There is a place to park a regular car and walk in to the trail head if you don't have 4WD.
The trail is well maintained. However, if you have a fear of heights, there are a couple spots where the trail is thin and exposure on one side.
That being said, we hiked up with our 4 year old daughter with no problems.
Cache contains a star, holiday ornament, stickers, bead ring, needle and thread,crayons, coloring pages, pencil sharpener, log book, 2 towelettes, marble, Winnie the Pooh book - star shapes.
The cache is the bonus and this hike should be done for it's namesake! At the top of a knoll about an hour in is the historic Ashrama! The views are beautiful. We see all of nature as "Church". Here is the link to the history of the Ashrama. (visit link)
Bring water and a jacket. Weather could change suddenly.
