NoVAGO Geocaching Diet Event #5-2 Creek Trail Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

TeamObbie1: The weather was perfect. The trail was partially mowed. Only one tick and a few chiggers, so all in all not too bad.

Geocache Description:

Inspiration:

Fellow Geocacher Martin Pedersen is on a diet. Martin is determined to lose 100 pounds by the end of the year. He’s using geocaching to shed the weight. His aim is to find 1000 geocaches and walk 2500 kilometers (1554 miles).

THE PLAN:

Geocaching events for our own "NoVAGO Geocaching Diet". Each event allows the Geocacher to work towards their own individual goals. While not required, please post your goals and progress towards them in your log posts so that we can encourage and celebrate our progress!

Our Event: W&OD Two Creek Trail Hike

This 19-acre site is located near mile marker 30 of the W&OD Trail between Goose and Sycolin creeks. A one-mile walking and equestrian trail winds around the park's perimeter, providing views of Goose Creek's largely untouched forested banks.

The trail is shaded by woods for about ¾ of way and there are plenty of opportunities for cooling hot feet in a cool creek. However, STRONG bug repellent highly recommended. There are ticks. Parts of the trail were mowed this week!

The area has two picnic tables were we can share HEALTHY snacks. Be sure to bring water and bug repellent.

You do not have to be a member of NoVAGO to attend - ALL Geocachers are welcome. This is an opportunity for geocachers to meet, get together, talk about our geocaching adventures and encourage each other on our Geocaching Diet goals!

Let's meet at 9:00 am.

Parking: There is limited parking available. Belmont Ridge Road and Cochran Mill Road both have parking. The park is located between these two roads. Check out the trail map, in the cache gallery, for details.
