How Geocaching Works
THIS CACHE IS NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART!! There is quite a bit of walking and STEEP hiking.
THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKING is a cache in the area of Yellow River Forrest that I used to deer hunt as a kid, and as the years have gone by, this hike gets harder and harder.You will park in part of the Equestrian campgrounds of Yellow River. From the parking spot where you should park at, it is .46 miles.As the hike starts, you will have the following things to cope with:
- There is a narrow trail the whole way, but you will have waist high weeds that will be on either side of you.
- You will cross a empty river bed to more weeds, then finally to...
- The climb. The STEEP climb can be very difficult for those who have a bad back, knees or other things that come with steep climbs. Smaller children may not be able to complete this climb. It is really hard walking especially after a rain, as it gets muddy and slippery. Once at the top, you should have no troubles.
AS ALWAYS, I HIGHLY RECOMEND LONG PANTS AND DEET IN THIS AREA. ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS A PUBLIC HUNTING AREA, SO BE AWARE OF ANY HUNTING SEASONS OPEN!!!
