From the parking area take the Augspurger Trail to the left. Hike uphill until you reach the junction with the Dog Mountain Trail at 2.9 miles. Bear left at that junction, then proceed downhill to a forested saddle. When you start to climb again, you will come to an old service road. Turn right, and climb gently until you pass under power lines. Continue straight until you reach the trail, then turn right. See waypoints for coordinates.
I called this Augspurger Stroll because it's easy walking compared to what you've been doing and the light dances through the leaves giving the area a slightly Lothlorien feel. The hide is close to the trail and there is very little ground cover to disturb.
Special thanks to LiefPhotos for his contributions to the geocaching community and exploring Augspurger Trail. I highly encourage hiking geocachers to check out his "Columbia Gorge Hiking/Caching Challenge" (see
GC264YZ,
GC2N5F6 and
GC3N5V7). The bookmark list he maintains for great hikes in the Gorge is an invaluable resource.

- Cache owners appreciate when finders provide logs about their adventures (or misadventures). Nothing more than TFTC makes us frown.
- Please log DNFs and information about the cache's condition. It helps owners decide when to check on their cache.
