This son of a wealthy publisher was a true racer and won the Gold Cup in 1923, 1924 and 1925. In 1922 he drove for the 1921 winner Jessie G. Vincent in the same boat, Packer Chris-Craft at the speed of 44.4. In 1924 he fielded his own boat Baby Bootlegger and in winning this year he was able to have the 1925 race moved back to his home in New York after being in Detroit for more than 10 years. The win in 1924 was at the average speed of 46.4. Back in Port Washington, New York he won the 1925 race at the speed of 48.4.
Calab Bragg also raced cars including at the Indianapolis 500. He also was the first president of The Wings Club as he was an aviator as well.
