Before the Manasquan Reservoir was created, this was an isolated woody area. Today, they say the "Ghosts of Georgia Tavern Rd" are back there. There were a couple of shacks where a band of motorcycle gangs would hideout. The county wanted them to leave when the reservoir was being created. They wouldn't go so there was big trouble and violence erupted, shots were fired, and the shacks burned down. No one dares go there now. Sometimes at night, you can hear the motorcycle ghosts racing around and yelling and screaming. Do you still have the courage to make this journey? If you see the ghosts riding their motorcycles or hanging out at the old shacks, you best get out of there fast. For some reasons the GPS numbers jump around a bit back there, so you will have to look carefully at everything you see. I think the ghosts move things as well. I could hear them whispering when I was there. I hope you find the cache because I am never going back there again!
Directions:
Park at N 40 10.663/W 74 13.215. Take the trail from the park At 0.12 miles to the cache, spy your secret path leading off to the right. At this point you are on your own. I hope you make it out alive!
The ghost may move things around, but they request that you return everything to the state and position that you found it so the next adventure can enjoy the same hunt.

This is the 8th cache in the Central Jersey Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge. Each of the 16 caches contains a single piece of a jigsaw puzzle. This one remembers "Ghosts of Georgia Tavern Rd." by tneigel originally hidden on 03/06/2002. Tneigel caches are legendary; always well placed and with a good tale about local history. The Ghost of Georgia Tavern Rd. was one of those caches that always stuck with me.
