Geocache Description:

NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES

The Grand Poo-Bah of Puzzle caches, for my money, is Sir pfalstad the evil one. How he comes up with the unique ways of encoding coordinates that he does is beyond me. His puzzles can be quite aggravating at the start. Almost always, when you get onto what he's up to, you're almost giddy in the remainder of the pursuit of the answer.

Having a completed solution to a pfalstad puzzle is worth a little dance (though quilting is fun too)- and if you can beat rickrich to it, it can sometimes yield an FTF.

I put this puzzle together to hopefully force pfalstad to take more than 5 minutes to solve. I purposely incorporated some aspects of his puzzles and I trust that you'll know WHAT to do fairly soon - it's the doing that may take just a little while.

If this puzzle it too tough, blame pfalstad. I guess we don't blame Kitch for anything anymore.

STEP ONE, UNSCRAMBLE THE CUBE
This may be a little revenge on pfalstad, though I did enjoy his rubik's revenge cache. I made it just a wee bit more cruel by not giving a 3D representation of the cube (I have it, I just didn't share it). Most of you will have the background to determine face orientation for this anyway. Once you get past this step, you'll find you have two tasks. One is quite straightforward and maybe a little challenging (I did work it myself - and I'm not a sudoku pro). The other is not straightforward and may be almost impossible for some and very easy for others - we'll see.

STEP TWO, WORK THE SUDOKU (AND DO THE MYSTERY PUZZLE)
This sudoku is a killer (if you don't know what to do with this, ask Mr. Google - he can help you out). The puzzle is fun to do and you're not likely to be tempted to plug numbers into a solver. I am showing a map of the sudoku (HEY...WHERE ARE THE NUMBERS??). The letters don't do anything but show you an order for things - so I also put a killer worksheet on this page for you to do the actual pencil work. The letters are removed from that and you'll see the significance of the little stars too.

I know, I know. "multi part puzzles? What's wrong with just a straight-up cache?" I've got plenty of those too, this one probably won't get found a lot, it's for the infamous puzzlers out there - and to force pfalstad to do some "cipherin'".

I made a correct "guess" to check the checker. Wish I knew how to reset it again.
