This cache will bring you to a back road dead end near Highway 231, just outside of Lincoln State Park. This cache is actually a great spot to park if you want to hike the tracks to take the easiest and shortest route to the nearby Father’s Day Cache, one of the oldest caches in Indiana.
You’ll cross a set of railroad tracks that legend has it were part of the train set that Abe Lincoln built from hand when he was a kid. There may or may not be any truth to that.
One of the problems that Lincoln State Park (and all state parks) faces is invasive species. When a non-native species invades an area, it can wreak havoc on the local flora and fauna…or it can simply hide a cache. You’ll be looking for an example of the latter. BYOP and enjoy!
