Cornish coast (Talland bay).
Approach requires sturdy walking boots and a very AGILE ability. Strongly suggest the search to be commenced on an outgoing tide. The well being of the cache is not affected by tidal movement. Particular care MUST be taken if accompanied by children, and those of a nervous disposition. Please be carefull of the final scramble. To commence the search an ideal parking location can be found at "Rotterdam beach" Coordinates N 50deg 20.249 W 004deg 29.629
The cache consists of an ammo box containing a golf ball, a watch, a foreign note, balloons, a picture frame, some smiley faces and Mrs. Stainless travel bug plus the log book and pen.

Having re-read many of the fantastic and interesting comments left by successful explorers I am tending to think that I may have underestimated its difficulty. I would therefore request that your own rating of the difficulty and terrain be left with your comments. I will take your views on board and make adjustments accordingly. Happy caching, Geckolegs

Having once again read through many of the log visits I have conceded that maybe I need to adjust the difficulty rating. I agree that once on top of the island the cache is not that hard to find, however in summer months when the bracken is at its maximum you do have to search, so for that reason I have downgraded slightly to a 3.5
Terrain however is a little trickier. I know it's a bit of a knee shaker and I appreciate that some intrepid cachers believe it should be a 5, but as Monkey Island is in Cornwall and not Katmandu I will change it to 4.5.

IMPORTANT REQUEST.
I paid a visit to the cache on 6/4/19.
Foolishly I did not take a maintenance kit. I found the log book to be damp and unusable. Please could a good samaritan please replace with a new log book and pen. Within a plastic bag if possible.

27/06/23. Hi everybody.I have a request as I am a little older since placing the Monkey Island cache and now live in Dorset I don't get to service the cache as often as I should. Would it therefore be possible for visitors to give it a quick service on my behalf. Just a simple tidy up and maybe try and remove any damp material that the Cornish weather has spoilt.
