Juana Suaso Traditional Cache

One of a series of caches designed to be accessed from the River trails by walking or bicycling. Most can also be reached by parking on a nearby street and walking to the cache, but the terrain ratings do not take this approach into consideration. If you try to reach this cache by following Google Maps directions, you will be taken to an area where there is a lot of trash and not the best way to reach this cache.

Juana Suaso, the oldest daughter of Jose and Teresita Suazo, was just 14 when she married George Simpson. They lived for a while at Fort Pueblo and later moved to Trinidad. When her husband went to California for a few years, she learned to read and write and earned money by teaching Spanish-speaking students. She became well-known for her charitable work at the church, school and hospital in Trinidad.
