An Unusual Occurrence at the
Cotton Patch
One of the prime reasons for geocaching is to highlight spots
where interesting bits of history actually occurred. This area has
several examples of these type of caches, from the nearby multi
that explores the Parker's Crossroads battlefield, to the even
nearer local history cache which highlights an eatery known as the
Cotton Patch. It is in this spirit that we offer you this geocache
placed very near the location where a highly unusual, and
therefore, historic event occurred. Although, reports vary as to
the actual importance of the error in question, one thing is for
sure, the size of the error was so small that if it were a geocache
it would be a micro, so this one is. We hope that you enjoy this
interesting bit of Tennessee history and that you take a moment to
stop and ponder the true meaning of this incredibly rare
occurrence.
For those who wish to see the actual location where the error
occurred, you may proceed inside the Cotton Patch to the main
dining area. He was seated at the head of the large table by the
picture window. A local historical preservation group is currently
raising money to have a plaque installed to mark this location.
