Take your picture with the man who pioneered this AWESOME year-round resort. I have had the good fortune to meet Dave McCoy on a few occasions and he always had time to pass a few words with visitors. The last time I spoke with him, he was beaming about the new snow-making pond and equipment that was being installed at McCoy Station. (That was awhile back.) He is very proud of his creation. If ANYONE deserves a statue in Mammoth, it's Dave McCoy. Thanks Dave!
1. Once at the location call a friend and have them go to the Mammoth Mountain Village Cam at: (visit link)
2. Click on the Start Control button to get control of the "Village Cam" webcam. If you do not get it right away you will be put in a queue and a timer will count down. Once the countdown timer turns GREEN you will have control for 30 to 60 seconds, Now select from the pull down menu "Statue of Dave" next to the start control button . The cam has a powerful zoom lens so please use it.
3. Once your friend has you on the cam have them hit the Print Screen button on their keyboard, Since the regular "right click; save as" does not work with this cam. You CAN right click and save as, if you hit the little camera icon to the left of the pull down menu.
4. All you need to do now is log your visit with your image and you are done.
NOTE: Cell coverage is poor at best up here. You may find a WiFi net at this location though, if you have your laptop with you.
