Geocache Description:

This is a great little park we found thanks to the Spring 2004 issue of Chicago Wilderness Magazine. They had a nice little write-up on Brownell Woods (http://www.chicagowildernessmag.org/issues/spring2004/IWbrownell.html) and we felt we had to check out a nearby area that we did not know existed. We went hiking in the woods and saw so many places that needed a cache. Hope you enjoy the sights as much as we did.

This is a 4 stage multi-cache. The first 3 stages can be found from a nearby Forest Preserve parking lot. At stages 2 and 3 you will see what happens when vandals hit the area. Stage 1 is a micro-cache at a unique growth. The coordinates for stage 2 are provided for you there. At stage 2 look for something that doesn’t belong and use the number provided, add it to the last three digits of N41 33.615 and W087 36.297. This will take you to stage 3. For the forth stage we recommend deciphering the hint with information provided at stage 3. The foolhardy among you may try a nearby natural feature to gain access, but this is not recommended. The hint contains coordinates to an access road near the final cache. Even if the road is chained off there is room to park in front of the chains. Please note: after a heavy rain parts of this area becomes submerged. Stage one is on high ground but the remaining stages may take you thru low-lying areas.
