Geocache Description:

Growing up on the NY/CT border and being both a Westchester and Greenwich resident in my life, I am placing a series of ammo can caches in some of my favorite locations. I hope you have fun finding these well stocked, themed caches and treat them with respect. This is our fourth hide with a Film Noir and Early Horror theme great for fans of the macabre.

FILM NOIR

Welcome to Rockefeller State Park, located behind Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. This is a very special place to me. My family plot lies within the gates of the cemetery and I spend a lot of time visiting my mother there. During Halloween Season, Sleepy Hollow hosts a fabulous array of celebrations that bring tourists from around the world. Many visit the cemetery to find Washington Irving, The Rockerfellers, Chrysler or Carnegie and I hope some find their way to this apropos cache. The Rockerfeller State Park trails in Pocantico Hills, behind the cemetery are a worthwhile haven for exploring, featuring several beautiful bridges and many old stone walls and building remains. There are several entry points to the park and well marked trails. I enter through the gates at the back of the cemetery when they are unlocked, but you can access the trails from several entrances that offer more reliable parking. I suggest entering via the Cemetery or Douglas Park or you may have a long hike ahead of you. By a small wood and stone bridge crossing the river, you will find a blue trail marker reading "Pocantico River trail". The cache is near. Please respect park hours, rules and regulations and do not leave any trash behind or disturb the local environment. Put cache back exactly how you found and and make sure the lid is secure. This cache is placed with permission from Rockefeller State Park Preserve, permit number RSPP-01.

This themed ammo can is found slightly off the trail and is stuffed with film noir and horror themed goodies. Beware of the giant sparkly spider. Trades and travel bugs welcome. Don't forget to sign the log book and keep it protected in its bag. Items in keeping with the theme or having something to do with Sleepy Hollow get bonus apreciation hearts, but all trades welcome.
