5/4/07 Update: MROSD had this set
up to start at 8:30 a.m., so everyone gets an extra half an
hour of sleep.
Reynolds Road is a little-known turnoff a bit downhill from Mt.
Umunhum, and across from Almaden Quicksilver Park. Our friends at
Mid-Peninsula
Regional Open Space District (MROSD) have once again asked for
our help in preserving the areas where we like to play with our
toys.
Cleaning supplies and assistance will be provided by MROSD and
the County of Santa Clara. There will be many of the usual hazards,
including poison oak, various insects and broken glass, so you
should prepare accordingly.
I would strongly recommend bringing the following:
- good work gloves
- sunscreen
- bug repellent
- Tecnu
To log this event you will have to sign the log book, which will
be permitted after filling one garbage bag of trash, or hauling out
an equivalent amount of debris. You will also be asked to
cheerfully pose for a photo with your haul. Some of these
photos will wind up on places like the GBA site.
MROSD is now requiring all participants to fill out the
Volunteer Agreement and Release of Liability form. If you want to
save time and fill it out ahead of time, it can be downloaded
here.
As of this writing there are only two caches on this road;
hopefully more will be placed before the event (hint, hint).
