My 2 youngest girls were excited to place this cache in one of our favorite winter sledding areas. This probably qualifies as a Park 'n Grab - plenty of parking and a very short hike will take you to the Lock n' Lock container with a bunch of trinkets courtesy of the kids. There's a little something for the FTF to keep you awake on those long caching days.
The Lincoln-Woodstock Kancamagus Recreation Area, better known as "The Kanc" is a family favorite. Tucked in the shadow of Big Coolidge Mountain, the 6MACS have spent many winter days enjoying the sledding and skiing. In the summer, the young ones enjoy the playground and running up and down the hills. If you ski, you must plan a trip in winter to try one of the few remaining old fashioned rope tows in the region. The 750 foot tow will give you a rapid ascent to the top of the hill where you'll enjoy a steep and very fun downhill run. My son and I have enjoyed many Saturday nights, in all sorts of weather, skiing The Kanc, after a long day skiing Loon Mountain. This town run spot is a little gem in the White Mountains.
