This cache was placed in memory of the late Mick Smith, who travelled here every year from his home in Oxfordshire, to enjoy this beautiful countryside. A true country man through and through - he would spend time here shooting, fishing and simply enjoying everything in these stunning surroundings.
We have included some 'treasures' in the cache which have meaning to Mick and his family and we hope you find something of interest/use to you.
We have also left a packet of 'Wild Flower' seeds and we ask if you could scatter a small amount from the pack somewhere close to the cache before you leave. (Please reseal the pack so its ready for the next geocachers!)
Should you wish to further your walk today, can I suggest you tackle the hill the other side of the road... if you manage to get to the top (the hill on the right as you look) there is a monumental landmark sited on the very top.. and the view is simply amazing!!
Please also note a travel bug was placed in the cache on its 'birth day' and should this be present, we hope you will take it with you (to another cache) and keep 'Micks Memory' alive, travelling to further beautiful places. Many thanks, Me,MandK.
