Geocache Description:

This multi-cache was spawned by the Mount Baldy Cocoon cache. It originally contained, among other things, the spawn cache from the Mount Baldy Cocoon cache. This cache has an eagle theme because an eagle landed in the tree directly behind me while I was logging the Mount Baldy cache.

To avoid the confusion caused by my earlier fixes to this cache I am removing the first waypoint. I have requested that the approver update the posted coordinates because the website wouldn’t let me move them this far. The distance between the waypoint and the cache will still require the use of a car.

To find the cache coordinates you now only need to locate some information about a famous man whose first and last names were swapped by my parents to come up with my first and middle names. I’m sure this was unintentional, but when I noticed this coincidence while searching for a spot to hide this cache I just had to put a waypoint here.

The cache now starts at N 48º, 29.282', W 121º, 36.860'. This park is closed during the winter, and I think there is also a parking fee here, but you can park on the road near the entrance and walk to the waypoint sign in a few minutes. When you reach this spot write down the following information about my reverse namesake, whose name was also given to a species of tree where many Bald Eagles build their nests:
A = The year he started traveling through the northwest.
B = The Year he finished traveling through the northwest.
C = The year the portrait shown at the waypoint was drawn.

The cache is located at N 48º, 30.X', W 121º, 36.Y', where X = [125 x (C-A)], Y = [141 x ((B-A)-1)].

The cache is a 50-caliber ammo can located along a narrow dirt/gravel road that intersects Route 20 just west of the waypoint. I don't think there are any trails in the park that will take you to it. The cache is about 2500 feet above sea level so there is some danger of it getting snowed in during the winter. The road does not have much traffic during the winter but probably has a lot more when there is no snow on the top of the mountain. There is a good spot for parking and turning around near the cache that also offers a fine eagle eye view of the valley below.
