Warning

Please note: To use the services of geocaching.com, you must agree to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Make sure to bring a flashlight and a sweater. It will get cold and dark if you come from the east side. It can be a Family cache, though there are some tricky spots. Don't always take the direct route! Use Exit 54 on Hwy 90.

For the claustrophobic, I would suggest coming up from the west side of the cache instead of the east side. You'll know why by reading this article.

Off Highway 90, you can actually get within a half of a mile from the cache. Deceptive! Don't pull over on the highway! Do some research first.

The recommended starting point is 47.39279 -121.39311

If you have more problems, I would suggest going to 47.39489 -121.44736 for a hint on how to get to it. Just print out this page and use it only if you have real problems.

Happy caching! 7/7/08 UPDATE- Coordinates posted were taken from the center of the trail. Find the trail sign. Cache is located directly above, on the South side of the trail. Will update soon with photos and spot on coords.

After finding the APE cache, we wanted to get up here and get this, the second-oldest cache in the state. Getting to the cache was a little treacherous, but we didn't have any problems. We took a 14-sided die and left a football-shaped bottle opener (in honor of tomorrow's Super Bowl). Thank you for placing and especially maintaining this cache all this time.

Another historic cache for today. A little wet inside but the log is dry enough. Really cool to find an old barrel stave water line. Its too bad the tunnel has been closed, I loved biking through it in summer.

This was too, too cool. We were invited along for a day with Team Peredox to hunt the historic APE for their 400th, and then decided to press our luck with the attention span and stamina of Thing One and Jr Peredox to grab the three just past. It was great having our last cache of the day be so venerable. True caching history. Thank you.

This cache took me a while to find!! I was all over the place, got completely soaked, and even tried to phone a friend all the way back in DE!!! Ultimately, nothing seemed to help - I just had to spot it, and spot it I did, after what seemed like forever!!! Very cool cache hide - have never found one with that type of "camo" before! Thanks for a great cache.

Caching with hamsx2 and hams2x. We found the cache while on a quest for the APR cache. We followed the GPS and re-read the cache page. Could believe it was hidden in there. This water is cold up here. Found the cache safe and dry. Thanks for the smiley of an old cache.
