"Ohio Spirit Quest"

The Ohio Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Buckeye Pioneers. This series is inspired by and a continuation of the Indiana Spirit Quest caches created by Six Dog Team. In just over three years, the SPIRIT QUEST has grown to over 550 caches, with the hiding teams growing as well. The Ohio Spirit Quest has grown to over 30 in Ohio, with five current caching teams, three each with A Man and His Dog, one with a Couple and Their Dog... and one with A Woman and her Dog.
Over 1,000 cachers have logged over 20,000 finds. One cache machine found 111 ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours only).

Come with us now for a virtual tour of this burial ground via this page, then go out and find the cache!

Welcome to Huston Family Cemetery

Flatrock Township, Henry County, Ohio
OHIO SPIRIT QUEST #55
"PERMISSION GRANTED"

The Huston Family Cemetery is located far from any roads on section 15 of Flatrock Township.

The cemetery is located on a small strip of land almost surrounded by streams. The old
timers believe that there are both Indians and whites buried side by side. It is suspected
that there is an Indian buried under the very large oak tree. There are only
three readable stones in this cemetery, and they are all broken.

Jeremiah and Catherine Huston were natives of Ashland County Ohio, and settled in Henry County in 1852.

I have been unable to determine the exact number of children, the Hustons
raised on their 160 acre farm. I can confirm that they had at least two sons.
Charles Huston, is buried alongside his parents in this family cemetery.

Jeremiah and Catherine's second son, Mahlon lived a full life. At the age of 20, in 1864 he
enlisted in the Army and served with the 66th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He died in 1922, and
is buried with his wife and daughters at Cole Cemetery, about 1 1/2 miles northeast of here.

Logs that indicate your entry point, to the cache area, was anything other than the given parking coordinates, will be deleted without notice.

Congrats to T-Hunter for the
F.T.F.!!!

The cache container is small Lock & Lock.
If you find a fallen US flag, please stick it back in the ground. As always, please be respectful, and cache in, trash out.
