Lost Your Marbles Yet? Mystery Cache
Emmy-n-Sapphie: It appears this one is gone. Thanks to those who took the time to visit a multi. It was a fun one and I am sorry to see it go. Hope someone puts a creative cache in the space that has opened up.

A 3-stage puzzle multi-cache in the Slaughter Creek Greenbelt. If
you park on Doe Run near the Shady Hollow Community Center
(entrance to the greenbelt at the bottom of the parking lot), this
cache should definitely take less than 45 minutes. All three stages
are within a few hundred feet of each other.
Have you hobbled down a steep slope on a severely sprained ankle
just to beat Mrs. You-Know-Who to FTF? Are your co-workers looking
at you strangely because you inadvertently slip words like “URP”
and “YAPIDKA” into your conversations? Have you ever rushed out to
a newly listed cache only to curse when you open the ammo can and
see that signature carabiner? Have you claimed the smiley for
FLITS? Is your non-caching spouse threatening to divorce you if you
go out caching AGAIN tonight? Do you know how to spray-paint an
ammo can OD green? Do you look at trash on the side of the road and
think "that might make a good micro container"? Do you have
Moosiegirl’s number on speed-dial? Have you ever woken up at night
and wondered what fiendishly clever cache Team GeoDillo will think
up next? Do you ever stop at a new cache on your way to work only
to find you are the FIFTH person there and it was only published 30
minutes ago? Do you stick your hands in snake hidey-holes where no
Texan in his right mind would stick his hand because you just KNOW
that the cache must be in there? Do you own camo duct tape? (Y’all
know who you are!) If so, you have officially LOST YOUR MARBLES and
this is the cache for you.
This is a fun, short 3-stage multi with a puzzle twist. Kids
especially like the redirectors. You must solve the puzzle out in
the field, so bring a pen and paper with you. As always, there is
an easy way to get to each stage and a hard way. So far everyone
has taken the very hard way from point 2 to 3. There is an easier
way if you just look. Night caching is not recommended because at
least one redirector is near a steep slope.
The listed coordinates will take you to the 1st redirector. Once
there, answer this question: What kind of nut am I? (5 letters).
Print your answer below. The 1st redirector will contain the
coordinates for the 2nd redirector.
Once you find the 2nd redirector, answer the following question:
What is my favorite cereal? (2 words, 5 letters each). Print your
answer below. NOTE: the second redirector does NOT contain the
coordinates for the final cache. There is no need to move the
second redirector. Just look at it and answer the question. Please
do NOT move the 2nd redirector.
Now on to the puzzle.
Word 1 (1st redirector): ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
Words 2 & 3 (2nd redirector): ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ / ___ ___
___ ___ ___
Next substitute numbers for the above letters using A=1, B=2,
C=3….Z=26
Finally:
The final cache is located at N 30 1a.bcd W 097 5e.fgh
a= 2nd letter of 3rd word – 3rd letter of 3rd word
b= 1st letter of first word
c= 1st letter of 2nd word
d= 2nd letter of 1st word – 1st letter of 1st word
e= 3rd letter of 1st word – 5th letter of 1st word
f= 5th letter of 2nd word – 5th letter of 3rd word
g = 1st letter of 1st word + 1
h = 2nd letter of 1st word - 2
The final cache is a regular ammo can. Please rehide it well. Hope
you enjoy seeing a part of the greenbelt you may not have known
about.
The original contents of the cache:
MARBLES of course!
Devil Picture Frame
Road Runner
Pedometer
Bubble whistle
LEGO Connect & Build Pen
Sidewalk Chalk

Congratulations to Lignumaqua on the FTF!
