How Geocaching Works
THE 1ST STAGE OF THE CACHE IS TEMPORARILY NOT AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES !!
This is a 3-part multicache which follows a portion of the route of the Pacific Coast Coal Mines railroad.
The above coordinates used to take you to a sign at one end of the trail. Due to landscaping in the area, this sign has been removed temporarily. As the information on the sign is significant to the area's history and the reason we placed the cache, we have included a photo of the sign for cachers to use. Using the information there, complete the simple equations below. These will take you to a point of interest where the second stage of the cache is located. The coordinates at this stage will direct you to the location of the cache itself, hidden within a few feet of the trail.
Cache is a traditional lock'n'lock in a black garbage bag. An unactivated geocoin awaites the FTF cacher.
STAGE 2 LOCATION:
Lat = 49 degrees, 06.X minutes
Long = 123 degrees, 51.Y minutes
2X + 623 = Year PCCM started using the rail line
Y = (# of men drowned + 5) x 12
