Geocache Description:

Come help us celebrate as the Alabama Geocachers Association celebrates its 3rd anniversary.

That's right...the AGA will turn 3 on Oct 21st.

I have no idea how strong we are but I know it had surpassed 1000 before Alacache went down. Let's have a day of celebration and fellowship.

This will be "potluck", so everyone bring their favorite dish! Please post what you will be bringing so we won't have 10 of everything!

The AGA took a big hit this year when the Alacache website went down. But as Bubba Cache pointed out on the Dixie Cachers website, "The AGA came before Alacache.com."
Dittydaddy posted, "I have never thought of the AGA as being a web site. I think of the AGA as the group that Alabama geocachers belong to and someone just happened to create a web site where they meet and share good times, thoughts, caching ideas and fun.....I do live in Alabama, I am a geocacher and I do enjoy associating with other cachers."
That is all the AGA is supposed to be. Alabama geocachers getting together and having a good time. So lets do that!!

The Meet & Greet will be held at Noon at the White Oak Pavilion at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. Eating will begin at 2pm.
I've had a few people ask what they should bring. We'll be providing hamburgers, hot dogs, and the condiments. We'll need paper plates, napkins, and plasticware. Anything else you decide to bring should be something you'd want to eat or whats the most convenient. I know a lot of cachers will be caching their way to the event so it would be easier for them to bring things like chips and dip or a cooler of drinks.

There is a fee to get into the park. It is $1 for kids ages 6-11 and seior citizens 62 and older. $3 for adults. (visit link)
There is a BMX race track next to the pavillion so bring the kids bikes and a helmet.

For those of you living in the Northern part of the state, or just very adventurous, here's you chance to log two events in one day. Neoncacher is hosting the Green Eggs and Ham, with a side of Cache event at 7:30ish that morning. He will then be cacheing his way down to Pelham. (visit link)
