Geocache Description:

This gathering takes place on October 16, 2004, the right time for fall colors! PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE DISCRIPTION! It will be held in Letchworth State Park in the same Pavilion as last year. There is a large parking lot and there are restrooms near the Pavilion. TO VISIT THIS CACHE PAGE AGAIN USE ZIPCODE 14530.

The park opens at 6:AM and Closes at 10:00 PM. There is a $6. entrance fee per car. If you want to camp in the park call 1-800-456-2267 or Highbanks Tent and Trailer (camping) 237-3303. There are other campgrounds outside the park as well,in Mt.Morris, Perry, etc.. There are strict regulations regarding pets; short leash, proof of shots, etc. Pets are PROHIBITED from all park buildings including the pavilion, cabins, cabin areas, and pool areas! The pavilion, South Highbanks is near the Mt. Morris entrance in the area of the North Swimming Pool. It has a capacity of 184 people, there are 23 tables. There are 8 grills in a covered vented area attached to the enclosed pavilion. There are only 2 electrical outlets, 1 in the cooking area and 1 in the enclosed area, which is used for coffee; both are high up so short cords will not work. There is running water just outside the pavilion. There is a huge fireplace inside at one end of the Pavilion, we need to bring our own wood, and we now have 5 bags of CHARCOAL with 1 starter for cooking. ATMouse will bring junk wood to burn not cook on, Avroir will bring charcoal starter fluid. There is a large play area and playground equipment for kids. We could do breakfast as well as lunch, any takers? (We have one offer of donuts, coffee & creamer)) Lunch will start around noon, get there with the food earlier. It will be a "Bring a Dish to Share" type picnic as before. You will be expected to HELP COOK MEAT FOR YOUR OWN FAMILY.
As of October 15 there are about 150 cachers signed up. Cachers have now volunteered to bring: 120 HOTS & 120 ROLLS, 120 HAMBURGS & 120 BUNS, sweet & dill relishes, catsup, Texas Sauce, & mustards, Baked Beans, Pasta Salad, Potato Salad, Toss Salad, Garden Salad(no lettuce), Shrimp Salad, Broccoli Salad, Taco Salad, Macaroni Salad, Spicy Pasta Salad, Tortillini/Sun Dried Tomoto Salad, Chicken & Biscuit, Tortilla Rollups, Gormet GORP, Vegetable Soup, with bowls, Chili, Veggie Platter, Crackers, cheese & Pepperoni, Assortment of Pretzels, Chips, & Salty Snacks, Fruit dish, Chocolate Caramel Cake, variety of Brownies, variety of Cookies, 5 unnamed Desserts, assortment of soda, 48+ cans of Pop, 2+ cases of bottled water, 2 of Cases Beer, Hot Cocoa, 2 coffee, lg.& sm. coffee pots, 1/2&1/2, sugar & Equal, cold cups, hot cups, Napkins, large & small plates, Plastic Utensils, Black & White Trash Bags. Also NOTE: What we carry in we must carry out, so help with clean-up and carry out is assumed. We will allow some alcohol in moderation for adults, as before. (I had to sign a permit for that). This event information will be added to as the time draws nearer. I wanted you to be able to start making plans and marking your calendars as soon as possible. Log on with a note to LET US KNOW WHAT dish you will bring and how many there will be in your group.
NOTE ABOUT TRAVEL BUGS: YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN, YOU MUST TRADE EQUALLY SO THERE ARE NO BUGS LEFT OVER.
