Geocache Description:

Parks and Recreation

In 1956....the fireman launched a drive to sell bonds to raise $50,000.00 to build a swimming pool. The pool was started April 25, 1957....and opened August 14, 1957...338 children and adults paid their way into the pool.

The pool had made several changes over the years...then it was put under roof in 2002...and in September 2012 it closed.

The city parks offer tennis and basketball courts, along with playground equipment for the young and covered pavilions to rent for parties and family reunions.
