This is on a mountain top, next to a fire look out tower.
There is a 15 minute hike from the parking area.
The cache is a metal box 6X6X3.
The place is called Acker Rock by the forest servie and rock climers. There is a look out tower that can be rented out for a nights stay or just walk up the hill for 360* view of the area. If the gate at the tower is lock then someone is renting the place, so don't go up the last 40 feet or so. But you can still get a great view from there and get to the cache.
This is above Tiller on road 28 (Umpque Rd.) to road 29. You will see a sign that says Acker rock 7 miles, 5 miles paved road and 3 miles of dirt road, good dirt road. The drive up 29 is about 25 minutes. The parking area is at 43* 03.287 / 122* 38.827.
Less than a 1/2 mile walk.
The cache is a box with a log sheet and pencil and some trade items.
If little ones are with you, when you get to the top hold on to them, there is a 4 foot fence, should be ok.
This a realy great view un-like any that you would normaly would see.
