Geocache Description:

This cache will take you to an unusual and little-known monument in the Cambridgeshire countryside.

Between the villages of Harston and Little Shelford, five miles to the south of Cambridge, is a small hill called St Margaret's Mount. On the hill is an obelisk dedicated to the memory of Gregory Wale, who died in 1739, erected by his friend James Church. According to this source, this came about as the result of a pact between the two men; they used to meet on this hill, and they agreed that whoever died first, the other would erect a monument to him.

A public footpath leads up the hill from the road. There is room to park a couple of cars at the bottom.
