One of the
best experiences of geocaching is hiding geocaches for all
the area geocachers. Some have been easy, others have been
hard and then some have been diabolical. There have been a
few detractors and most of you seem to thrive on the
challenge offered in finding one of my harder geocache hides.
Many of my geocaches are more than just a park and grab, ammo
can hidden under a pile of sticks or a geocache stuck too
close to a trail or too exposed in a public place.
The magnetic
keyholders, Bison tubes and film canisters have been endless. Ammo
cans and Tupperware are not quite the thrill anymore. Many have
grown weary finding these ordinary containers hidden in
unimaginable ways.
This cache is
not one of these containers and it isn't hidden in any of these
routine ways. It isn't for the less experienced geocachers. If you
want the standard routine hide in a standard routine container,
there are plenty around to find and this is not one of
them.
I suspect there
will a few more detractors after eventually finding this cache.
There aren't any hints other than it is hidden a unique way in a
semi-public place so be discrete.
By all means,
keep your perspective about this sport or game. There are no awards
or recognition for what anyone achieves. No one really cares how
many finds anyone has and gloating about a first find is really not
in style anymore. Some even get upset when a poorly hidden geocache
gets plundered or their precious Travel Bug isn't moved in a timely
manner - lighten up - this is for fun. It is really adults playing
at a children's game - a high tech Easter Egg hunt!.
By all means,
if you dislike or avoid negativity and negative people, stay off
the forums. No one ever found a geocache sitting at home on the
computer perusing numerous trivial threads that ultimately equate
to a bunch of whiners. Most of the whiners and complainers would be
better served by getting off the computer and on the trails in
pursuit of geocaches.
Have Fun! Enjoy
the Adventure! If you are not having fun or enjoying the
adventure, perhaps another past-time might be better for you.
If your physical, mental or emotional situation causes you to
dislike aspects of geocaching, how caches are hidden, the
geocachers you encounter, causes you to be a whiner or
exhibit other anti-social behavior, another sport might be
more appealing. Remember this is a game and we're having fun!
If you have a chip on your shoulder or a score to settle then
this is not the sport for you!.
The vast
majority of us enjoy the sport and the adventure and the people in
our own way. If you agree and are up to the challenge then this
cache is for you.
If you need help with one
of my caches, no problem. No need for a DNF or any
other demands - just good old friendship and teamwork!!.
