Mirror, Mirror on the Wall Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team 'James W': Returned by GeeJay - From the bits left we think that it may have been dragged out by a fox or badger (bite marks) then the bits have been taken or tidyed up. Shame. Have got a more secluded spot nearby so will re-assess. Sorry to all who were hoping to get this one soon. James

Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden in a small park locally named "Mirror Park" that you
cross when walking from Heswall Town down into Lower Heswall, on the shore
of the Wirral facing North Wales.

The name is taken from the large mirror on the bend in the road at the topend of the park. From the park you can see the River Dee and down the DeeEstuary out to the Irish Sea. The Dee Estuary is a haven for Birdwatchersfrom across the globe and great description of the shore lower down can befound here: (visit link) You may like to tie this cache up with other South Wirral caches, namely"Dungeons Cave", "A Common Cache" and "Lost Track" using the Wirral Waywhich circumnavigates the Wirral Peninsular. From the park if you carry ondownhill into Lower Heswall you can walk through the grounds of St.PetersChurch and meet up with the Wirral Way. The church is made of sandstone andis a wonderful building with great views of its own. It's well worth a lookif you're nearby. If you are exploring, may I suggest OS Map Explorer 266which covers the Wirral in sufficient detail for walkers. There is also agreat walk in the area listed here: (visit link) Very close to the cache is the Dee View pub which does food and also if youwalk down towards Lower Heswall via School Lane you will find the BlackHorse at the bottom of the road which is also really nice. Neither haveproper gardens though so they may not be so suitable for families. The cache is a lunchbox-sized Tupperware container hidden in a bag to aidcamouflage. When placed, it contained:Logbook and penPhoto clip/holderBlank Sony MiniDiscSmall fun photo frameDecision diceStickersGlass fishHotel Shampoo & Body WashSmall bottle of perfumeStar-shaped pin badgeSparkly tealight'Pulse point' oilPiglet Travelbug from Gran CanariaAnd... A personally-crafted "First Finder" certificate! Be the first to findthe cache and claim the unique award!Because the park is quite small and open, you'll need a bit of discretionwhen searching. The park is generally Muggle-free in the mornings, andparticularly at weekdays so come then if you can but don't be otherwiseput-off, it's not too bad.Good luck, Happy CachingTeam 'James W'
